Activities
- IAa1.1
Establish project understanding and governance framework
DriverThe Owner shall understand and document the project's relation to relevant studies, legal frameworks, and sociocultural values and define and document the project's scope.
- IAa1.2
Gain a good understanding of the communities likely to be affected by the project by preparing a Community Profile
DriverThe Owner shall prepare a detailed Community Profile that captures comprehensive information about the communities anticipated to be impacted by the project. This profile shall encompass demographic data, socio-economic indicators, cultural practices, and historical context. The objective is to establish a baseline understanding of the community's characteristics and dynamics. The scope does not include community engagement strategies or interventions based on the profile findings.
- IAa1.3
Map the proposed project value chain
DriverThe Owner shall define the phases and activities required throughout the entire scope of the project, including all relevant and supporting activities, by listing all the phases/stages of work and their corresponding activities.
- IAa1.4
Identify and scope the likely social and human rights impacts of the commercial real estate project
DriverThe Owner shall identify, and scope anticipated social and human rights impacts associated with the project referencing the value chain map created in Activity IAa1.2. The scope does not cover mitigation strategies or broader environmental considerations.
- IAa1.5
Determine the 'social area of influence' by identifying the likely impacted parties
DriverThe Owner shall identify and analyze parties potentially affected by the impacts (social area of influence) outlined in Activity IAa1.5. This assessment must include demographic data and a comprehensive understanding of the social context linking impacted parties to the project, focusing on those particularly vulnerable to negative impacts. The scope does not extend to impacted parties engagement strategies or broader environmental impacted party considerations.
- IAa1.6
Create a reliable, credible, equitable, and efficient impacted party engagement plan
DriverOwner shall create an impacted party engagement plan, including mechanisms for transparent and inclusive interactions with all identified impacted parties, detailing engagement methods, frequency, and communication channels. Special attention shall be given to ensure representation from marginalized or vulnerable groups. The scope is limited to the design of the engagement plan and does not encompass its execution or subsequent assessment.
- IAa1.7
Assemble relevant baseline data for key social issues
DriverOwner shall compile baseline data specifically for the SEAM performance and context indicators within the Activities being pursued as part of certification. This data will establish the initial conditions against which project impacts and performance can be measured. The scope is confined to identifying and collecting these indicators, ensuring data accuracy and relevance. It does not extend to subsequent data analysis, interpretation, or monitoring phases.
